Money money money money, mooooney!

Tue Jun 2, 2009, 5:06 PM
So I went through a little bit of an online shopping spree and spent a nice chunk of change...Needless to say, my debt went up a bit and will take me longer to pay off now. I should still reach my goal of saving $10,000 by the end of the year though...I'm also implementing an extreme budget on myself now to cut out some extra costs that are completely useless.

Anyway, enough of that boring talk. What did I get? Lots of goodies! Two monitors, a webcam, a new CPU, and a few invisibleSHIELD protectors for a few things. The cost of my current monitor has been cut in HALF. It is now less than 300 bucks. The 25.5" isn't much more than that...So I bought them both, to go with my 24" I already have. Speaking of 25.5", why don't they just make it 26"?? I mean, the model name is T260, not T255. Just doesn't make sense to me...The CPU I bought is a Core 2 Quad 3.0GHz, which is much better than my Pentium D that I purchased literally days before Core 2 was released.... >.<

The T260 has already arrived somehow. It was supposed to have been shipped from California and I ordered everything on Sunday...So they must have overnighted it from Cali! Not sure why though, I sure didn't pay for that....The other items shipped from New Jersey and should be here tomorrow. As for the Zagg items, I have no idea, I haven't received word of shipment yet. As for the T260...It's beautiful. It's so bright and crisp and sleek and slender and amazing. My old T240 looks like crap compared to it...So I requested a repair, because it's slowly grown dull. Luckily it has a three year warranty, so I'm shipping it off to Samsung.

I am thinking of reformatting my desktop, again, once I get my CPU. I might even format my laptop just for fun. However, I don't know what I want to put on them....I have access to fully legal copies of any Windows OS that I want to install thanks to TechNet, so I have plenty of choices. I was thinking of installing the Windows 7 RC because I heard it's far smoother than Vista and doesn't take up as much processing power, but at the same time...It's not even released yet, and most brand new releases of MS stuff has plenty of bugs. Do I really want to deal with that? Am I going to have issues getting drivers if I pick W7? I currently have Windows Vista Ultimate x64 on my desktop and it runs perfectly fine, albeit laggy at times if I'm trying to run games in their highest graphics settings...But I think my new quad core CPU should resolve that problem. My laptop has Windows XP Professional and runs fine. What does everyone think I should do for my desktop and for my laptop? Oh, and only Windows operating systems plzkthxbai.
